Laboratory Technician (Ref: 01/18CRH)

DEKRA Process Safety is a world leader in process safety testing and consultancy. Within the UK the company has fully equipped laboratory facilities on the outskirts of Southampton, in the beautiful setting of Southampton Science Park.

As part of the company’s ambitious growth strategy, we are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the team within the Chemical Process Evaluation Laboratory. The role will entail general cleaning, sample preparation & testing of a wide variety of materials, using specialist equipment, for process safety testing.

The successful applicant will be expected to have a keen interest in science supported by a minimum ‘A’ level qualification in Science & GCSE grade A-C English and Mathematics. A degree in Chemistry or related science is preferred, but not essential. An enthusiastic, flexible and ambitious candidate is sought who has strong self-motivational, team working and communication skills. Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

Benefits include, 25 days holiday entitlement, contributory company pension scheme and life assurance cover. Normal hours of work are 08:45 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday & 08:45 to 15:10 Friday.
