Junior Laboratory Technician - 12 month Contract (Maternity Cover) REF # JLT1907/CPE/RTL

For over thirty years we have provided specialist services for the identification, analysis, prevention and management of fires, explosions and accidental chemical releases in the chemical and process industry.

Within the UK the company has fully equipped ISO & GLP compliant laboratory facilities on the outskirts of Southampton, in the beautiful setting of Southampton Science Park, and we are looking for an individual with the right calibre to join our friendly team.

Working within the Process Safety Laboratories you will undertake laboratory audits, sample preparation & supporting our Technician’s and Analysts in a wide variety of testing for different materials. As this is a junior role you will be expected to support the team with general laboratory duties, including cleaning, but you will also have the opportunity to develop and learn a variety of tests in different laboratories.

The successful applicant will be expected to have a keen interest in science supported by at least GCSE Level qualifications in Science & Maths. An enthusiastic, flexible and ambitious candidate is sought who has strong self-motivational, team working and communication skills. Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

Benefits include, 25 days holiday entitlement, contributory company pension scheme and life assurance cover. Normal hours of work are 08:45 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday & 08:45 to 15:10 Friday.
